Dr. Cindy Childress

Founder and The Content Specialist

Dr. Cindy is an author, speaker, and content specialist. She started Childress Communication because she saw business owners struggling to write consistently and write well for their businesses. She also saw an opportunity for qualified, professional writers to use their skills in the professional services sector, instead of being relegated to technical writing or freelancers.

Every day she challenges herself and her team to make sure their clients aren’t just happy that the work is done on time, but rather they are stunned that the ideas they shared sound so amazing when Childress Communication puts them on the page.

With a Ph. D. in English, Dr. Cindy knows all the rules, as well as how and when to break them. She’s also an expert in ESL communication patterns–having lived in Asia for seven years, she understands how to communicate across cultures and appreciate how to preserve your voice as she revises the work.

Her system for completing ghost writing and book editing projects was developed in academia and adapted for business. This includes fast turn-around times, guaranteed finished products, and an editing process that bring your writing to near-perfection.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University, where she studied Writing and Communication. Her M.A. in English is from the University of South Florida. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and completed an English generalist Ph. D. with a creative dissertation. Her academic teaching credits include: Technical Writing, Advanced Expository Writing, Introduction to Creative Writing, Modern American Literature, and others.

She is an accomplished poet and writer and teach creative writing workshops with Writespace, amongst others around Houston. Cindy is completing a novel, which she worked on for a month in Rome, Italy. She and her husband were Celebrity Paws Honorees with Citizens for Animal Protection in 2016, and they regularly foster needy dogs and cats.

Susannah Russell

Writer and Editor

Susannah Russell has a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas. She also holds a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.

During her time at the University of Houston Law Center, she served as Chief Notes and Comments Editor of the Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, working directly with law students to craft and hone their own pieces of legal scholarship. She received the 2012 Shook, Hardy, & Bacon LLP’s Writing Award for Distinguished Paper in Business from the Journal. For two years, she also served as a Brief Writer on the Law Center’s award-winning Moot Court Team. During her tenure as a Brief Writer, she led her team to win Best Brief Overall in 2012 from the Billings, Exum, and Frye National Moot Court Championship and Third Best Brief from the American Bar Association’s 2012 National Appellate Advocacy Regional Competition held in Washington D.C.

Susannah spent five years in the energy industry, where she learned how to communicate complex legal and regulatory issues across company departments to minimize risk and facilitate operations.
